Road to Tucumcari
Road to Tucumcari was born on long stretches of empty highway and in the dust of the Colorado backcountry. The idea for Road to Tucumcari started with a blown radiator, on a long and empty road, outside of Tucumcari NM, and has lead to countless adventures and stories. While I do shoot in color, I prefer to work in black and white because I believe the moments speak best in stark tones—where light carves its way across worn mesas, lonely fence lines, and skies wide enough to swallow sound. Inspired by legends like Ansel Adams and the roam-far edge of Chris Burkard, I chase the solitude that settles over forgotten roads and wind-scoured plains. My photographs are meant to feel like the quiet hours before dawn or the last glow after sundown—rugged, honest, and unafraid of the empty spaces that make the West what it is.
